Acid-Base

Welcome to the Acid-Base module! Here we have a lecture going over the basics of Acid-Base chemistry and blood gases!

The acid-base buffer system is an important physiological function in the human body that contributes to homeostatic regulation. This concept goes hand-in-hand with respiratory physiology, as the alveolar gas exchange helps determine the concentration of vital blood gasses. Imbalances in acid-base can lead to life threatening pathologies, thus they must be readily addressed and treated.
